Chief Dr Gbenga Dalley Is Dead : OOU Lecturer Died In Car Accident

An Egba High Chief and Senior Lecturer at Ogun
State-owned Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago
Iwoye, Dr. Gbenga Dalley and two other persons
lost their lives in a multiple road crash,
Wednesday evening, along the Abeokuta/Sagamu
road.
Six passengers were also said to have been
rushed to the state hospital following the various
degrees of injury they sustained in the accident.
Vanguard gathered that the incident occurred
about 30 kilometres to Abeokuta, near Onipepeye
village at about 6.25p.m and involved three
vehicles—a Toyota Camry car with number plate
LAGOS AAA 181 AA in which the late
Akinfimogboye of Egbaland, drove.
It was further gathered that one of the vehicles
involved in the accident skidded off the road after
the driver lost control on his way to Lagos and
crossed the culvert, facing another oncoming
vehicle.
Further findings showed that the Egba chief, who
was returning from the university, on getting to
the scene attempted to avoid a head-on collision
but an articulated truck crushed his car from
behind.
The development was said to have led to the
instant death of Dally and two others whose cars
had part of their roofs smashed.
Confirming the accident, Head of Operations, Ogun
Command of the Federal Road Safety
Commission, FRSC, Cecilia Alao, said yesterday,
that the accident involved three vehicles and eight
persons.
She said a Toyota Camry car with number plate
LAGOS AAA 181 AA, Mitsubishi Space wagon
OGUN LAR 55 XA and Honda car with number
plate LAGOS KSF 224 AT, collided due to over
speeding.
Alao added that the remains of the victims had
been deposited at Ijaye General Hospital,
Abeokuta, adding that six persons who sustained
various degrees of injury were also receiving
treatment at the hospital.
She appealed to motorists to exercise patience
and apply what she described as “common sense
speed limit” while on the highway.
Among the first prominent callers at the scene
included the state Police Command Public
Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi; the state
Commissioner for Commerce, Mr. Bimbo Ashiru
and Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters,
Mr. Adesanya .
At the school owned by the late don, along the
Abeokuta/Sagamu road, staff and students wept
uncontrollably as the news of his death was
broken, yesterday.

What would push a man into an action that will
inflict severe pain or even endanger the life of his
own child? Which sensible or a normal father will
readily take up a whip to flog a child that is only
14 months old? A child that can barely talk?
These are some of the questions now begging for
answers following the petition of a housewife who
brought her husband before the Bauchi State
Shariah Commission.
Vanguard Metro, VM, gathered that Huwaila
Abdulahi, 22, who has been separated from her
husband, is asking the Commission to investigate
and unravel the mystery behind the strange marks
all over the back of her 14 months old daughter.
Although the estranged housewife is not seeking
for a divorce, she is demanding for justice for her
innocent baby as the 14 marks were not there
when the father sent one Ibrahim to bring the
little girl to spend some time with him.
The man, identified as Ibrahim Haladu, is being
accused of carrying out a ritual on his child. He
has been invited by the Commission to explain
the strange marks on his daughter’s back. But he
is insisting that he only flogged his daughter
with the cord of his handset charger because she
was disturbing him from watching his favourite
satellite television programme. He has also denied
that the marks on his daughter’s back were for
ritual purposes.
In spite of his statement, many people who saw
the strange marks on the child were not
convinced of his testimony as they believed they
were carefully incised.
In his account of the incident, Ibrahim said: “I
was watching an Arab channel but she would not
let me be with her cries. I was enjoying the
programme, but her cries kept distracting me. I
was provoked so I brought out my charger phone
wire and flogged her. My first wife Aisha who
heard her cries came out and was shouting at me
to stop. She was even angry and rebuked me for
beating her like that. I regret my action.
The marks on my daughter’s body is not for
ritual purposes as wrongly insinuated by some
people. I can never use my child for ritual. It is
unfortunate that my wife had to drag me to the
Sharia Commission because she has a grouse
against me. We have been having problems with
her, but that is between us. Why should I go to
the extent of using my child for ritual? I only beat
her as a father. I don’t belong to any cult or
secret society”.
Some residents of the Tirwun, a suburb of Bauchi,
where Ibrahim allegedly carried out the beating
of his baby were left in shock on seeing Sahura
with the 14 strange marks on her back. They
called for thorough investigation into the case so
as to unravel the motive behind his action.
But his estranged wife Huwaila, the mother of the
little girl, is still sceptical over her husband’s
explanations. She is pleading with the
commission to thoroughly investigate the matter.
VM learnt that the couple had not been living
together due to some marital problems.
Ibrahim moved to his house in Tirwin with his
first wife, Aisha leaving his second wife, Huweila
with his parents. Hajiya Huwaila told VM that her
husband occasionally comes to pick Sahura to
spend some time with him since they were not
living together. According to her: “My husband,
his first wife and I lived with his parents at Bakin
Kura before he moved with his first wife to
Tirwun, leaving me and my daughter Sahura
behind.
But he occasionally comes to take the baby to
spend some time with him in his new place and
bring her back. One day he sent one Ibrahim to
come and bring Sahura; this was around one in
the afternoon. But when they brought back my
daughter, I noticed something unusual about her
because she kept crying and I wondered what
was wrong with her.
When I checked her body, I saw some strange
marks all over her back”. Huwaila said she
quickly rushed to the Bauchi State Shari’ah
Commission to lodge a complaint after she
confronted her husband who claimed he only
flogged Sahura because she was disturbing him
with her cries.
The permanent Commissioner II of the State
Shari’ah Commission, Jibril Hassan, confirmed
that Huwaila lodged a complaint prompting the
commission to summon the husband. Hassan
added that the commission was investigating the
issue and would charge the father of the girl to
court at the appropriate time. He also said that if
found guilty of the accusations leveled against
him, the accused would be charged to court.

OAU Student Gives Birth & Flushed Baby Down The Toilet – How Hostel Cleaners Rescued The Newborn Boy (Picture)

This very sad story happened in Ile-Ife Osun
State, Nigeria this morning.
Apparently a female student at OAU (Obafemi
Awolowo University) delivered the above baby boy
in the wee hours of today.
In a bid to get rid of the baby, she attempted to
flush her down the toilet .
When the cry of the innocent baby boy alerted the
cleaners in the hostel , they rushed into the toilet
only to find the innocent baby’s head stuck to the
toilet bowl because he is too big for flushing.
They saw the mother washing her bloody hand
over the baby in the toilet bowl.
They immediately came to the baby’s rescue by
force-pulling his head from the toilet bowl.
The baby and her mother were rushed to Obafemi
Awolowo Teaching Hospital complex by the
cleaners.
On their way to the hospital, the placenta fell off
the baby boy.
This lucky baby survived with only minor fractures
to his skull.
The girl in question is a 400 Level Engineering
student. We also learnt that the guy who
impregnated her is a fellow student and a member
of her church fellowship.
The mother is set for prosecution as her case has
been reported to the police this afternoon.
Here comes the question, why are some ladies so
wicked.
Why engage in premarital sex when you’re not
ready to bear the consequences?
If not for the quick intervention of the cleaners
who heard the cry of the baby, he would have
died today.
Only God knows the kind of star he will be in the
future.
And to that wicked girl, is she even sure she’ll
ever have another child if eventually she
graduates and get married.

Couple who posed as bride & groom at age 4 still going strong at 91

Ron and Eileen Everest never knew a world
without each other. They were born in the same
hospital – he in 1921, she in 1922 – and were
friends practically from birth.
As 4-year-olds, they posed as bride and groom
in a pretend wedding at a carnival. Later, barely
out of their teens, they married for real.
And this year, 87 years after that old photo was
taken, the one they fondly refer to as their first
wedding rehearsal, the British couple are
celebrating their platinum anniversary after 70
years of marriage.
"We have been in love from the age of zero," Ron
tells the Telegraph. "We were born in the same
maternity hospital – we might have even been
born in the same bed."
It wasn't fate, necessarily. In fact, Eileen took
some convincing before she eventually agreed to
marry Ron in 1943.
"I did not think much of Ron at all," she tells the
Daily Mail . "But I did think he looked handsome
in his Navy uniform. To be honest, I liked the
look of the uniform more than him."
But 70 years after their wedding day, they can
look back and see just how special their bond
has been.
"We have had our ups and downs, but we have
always got on," Eileen says.
Adds Ron: "We promised to love, honor and obey
– and I did all the obeying."
Anyway, there's no backing out now. As Eileen
says: "I think we will stay together forever."

area of Ajegunle, Lagos was on fire and no fewer
than 150 shops, including their materials, were
consumed by an inferno. It is unclear what the
cause of the fire was, but it is believed that the
fire was caused by an electrical power surge in
one of the shops at a section of the plaza some
minutes after 3pm.
A resident of the area, who spoke on condition of
anonymity, said, “This whole incident started
when PHCN restored power here around 1.00p.m.

In this recent interview on Tribune, the singer
accused the Nigerian Press of falsifying his
mental health problem. He further accused the
media of collecting bribe amongst other issues.

What message do you have for people; especially
those who say you are sick?
Me? I don’t have any message for anybody, the
message I have for the Nigerian press is that they
are going to hell.
Why? Hell? And do you know you are also
including me?
Not you, but for those who always write and give
false information about me and for blaspheming
the prophet. Me and Jesus Christ, we are one, me
I no dey follow Jesus Christ like Christian o, I am
following Jesus Christ in a different way and in
different form.
So, the Nigerian press that is running against the
truth will go to hell, it’s not you I am referring
to. Okay, who gave me rain maker? It was the
Nigerian press that was good press like you. May
God help you in your press profession.
It was good people like you then that gave me

Double Murder In Ondo State: Ex- Banker Stabs Wife , Commits Suicide By Hanging

It was double tragedy in Ondo State as a 47-
year-old ex-banker, now a taxi driver, Jimoh
Lateef, after ten years of marriage, stabbed his
former wife, Amudat Oluwafunmilayo, to death
and thereafter committed suicide by hanging. The
marriage was blessed with five children before
things fell apart between the couple who lived at
Omoniyi quarters along Agbogbo area of Owo-
Benin-Akure expressway.
The wife, 45, was a trader at Iloro market, Akure
and hailed from Ijaraisin, Kwara State. The
husband hailed from Osogbo, Osun State. A
report said the couple had been estranged in the
last two years with the husband threatening to
kill the wife and then commit suicide. Sources
said that their families members, after failing to
reconcile them, agreed that they should separate
for a while to allow time heal their troubled
marriage following alleged battering of the wife by
Jimoh.
However, it was learnt that, two weeks ago, the
husband went to court for divorce and the court
granted his request, but when Oluwafunmilayo
went back to the house to pack her belongings,
the husband pleaded with her not to leave him.
The relationship between husband and wife took a
tragic turn on Friday afternoon when one of their
children after returning from school met his mum
in the pool of her own blood and the body of his
father dangling from the ceiling of their
apartment. He reportedly raised the alarm which
attracted neighbours and the whole community
was thrown into confusion.
The Chairman of the Landlord Association of
Omoniyi Quarters, Mr Ojo Oluwatayo, with other
landlords in the area rushed to the Divisional
Police Station in Ijapo to report the matter.
The DPO, SP Jane Mbanefo, and other policemen
mobilised to the scene. Sunday Vanguard
gathered that the the bodies of the couple have
been deposited at the state Specialist Hospital,
Akure morgue for autopsy. Meanwhile, the family
of the husband has pleaded with the police to
release his corpse to them for burial since he was
a Muslim.
Speaking with Sunday Vanguard, the uncle of late
Jimoh, Baba Labaika, said, “We have reported to
the Deji of Akure and we want to bury Jimoh in
his house while his ex-wife will be buried
elsewhere.
Ondo State police image maker, Wole Ogodo,
confirmed the incident. He said a blood stained
knife suspected to have been used by the late
husband to kill the wife was recovered from the
scene of crime.

Jealous Wife Who Poured Acid On Husband’ s Mistress In Ile Ife Osun State Arrested

A housewife, Mrs Suzanna Fawole (38), has been
remanded in Ife prisons in Osun State after she
was arraigned in Magistrates’ court, Modakeke on
Monday, June 3.
Fawole was accused of bathing one Funmilayo
Aderibigbe (35), whom she suspected to ber
husband’s lover, with a liquid substance
suspected to be acid, thereby causing her
grievous bodily harm.
The acting Chief Magistrate, Mr O.A. Ayilara
ordered that the accused be remanded in Ife
prison custody while the case was adjourned till
July 1 for further hearing.
May 6, was like any other day for Aderibigbe who
resides on Adeboye Street, Ife-Modakeke road.
Set for the day ahead, she went ahead to prepare
herself for the activities she had lined up for
herself, oblivious of what was in stock for her.
Before the end of the day, however, her once-
beautiful physique which made her the toast of
all, suddenly crumpled under the subduing power
of acid. She was almost turned into a monster
such as ones usually seen in horror movies after
she was allegedly bathed with acid by Fawole.
Crime Reports gathered that Fawole had alleged
Aderibigbe of having an affair with her husband.
As a result, the suspect had sent a number of
threatening text messages to the victim, warning
her to steer clear of her husband. Aderibigbe
reportedly ignored the messages and went about
her life until the deadly liquid was used to arouse
her from her perceived indifferent attitude.
Residents of the area were said to have been
infuriated by the suspect’s act, as an angry mob
reportedly gathered, with the intention to revenge
Fawole’s act but immediately police officers and
men attached to Modakeke Division of the Osun
State Police Command were alerted on the
occurrence, Crime Reports gathered that they
quickly moved to the scene to control the crowd
and prevent a serious crisis from erupting.
It was said that peace was eventually restored to
the area after the suspect had been arrested. The
victim was also taken to Obafemi Awolowo
University Teaching Hospital Complex, (OAUTHC)
Ile-Ife for prompt medical attention. Her mouth
and tongue were said to have been badly affected
that she was being fed through the nose.
During interrogation, Fawole reportedly confessed
that she decided to teach the victim a lesson out
of frustration and fear of losing her husband to
the lady. The victim was said to be fond of going
to the matrimonial home of the suspect to meet
her husband with whom she was suspected of
having a relationship. Fawole admitted beating
Aderibigbe before pouring the acid on her.

Abidal: Guardiola wants me at Bayern

The French full-back has expressed his interest in

Eric Abidal says he wants to sign for Bayern
Munich and Pep Guardiola would be happy to

Catalans at the end of the season.

Shoe Maker Arrested With Human Parts In Ibadan (Fresh Head & Legs Of Okada Rider )

Residents of Soka area, along Ire-Akari Estate,
Ibadan, Oyo State, were shocked to hear that one
of them, a popular shoe maker in the area, Mr
Kazeem Bamidele, also known as Kazzy
International Shoe Works, had been arrested with
human parts.
Saturday Tribune learnt that Bamidele was
arrested on Monday night in connection with
alleged murder of a Northerner, said to be an
okada rider. The police, it was gathered, led him
to his wooden shop on Friday morning and,
according to sources, discovered fresh human
head and legs of the victim where they were kept
inside a bush behind his shop.
Sources further informed Saturday Tribune that
Bamidele and his accomplice were busy
perpetrating this criminal act on Sunday, around
1.00 a.m, when two vigilance members serving as
security officers in the area became suspicious,
and asked them why they stayed so late in the
night.
According to sources, the vigilance group
members saw two people around the bushy path
in the area, one holding a knife while the other
was holding a gun.
The two vigilance group members were said to
have been surprised to see one of the two men
aiming his gun at them. The vigilance group
members then demanded to know what their
mission was in that area at that time of the day.
A source told Saturday Tribune: “On that fateful
day, some members of the Oodua Peoples
Congress (OPC) who are also vigilance men in
this area saw the man (Bamidele) with another
man in the night. When the OPC men asked them
what they were doing in the middle of the night,
one of them who was holding a knife told them
that he wanted to use it to cut coconut. His
partner was holding a gun.
“We were told that the OPC men had to confront
them that almost everybody living around the
area knew them as security guys; that the
suspects themselves could not deny that they
knew them. After minutes of conversation,
Bamidele and his partner could not hold it again,
giving the OPC men opportunity to move close to
them. That was what gave them the opportunity
to look through where they discovered what they
were doing.
“They saw a body of a human being whose head
and arms had been cut off. They (Bamidele and
accomplice) were still trying to cut something
from the victim’s throat. The area was littered
with blood, and at that point, the OPC men raised
an alarm, arrested them and attempted to invite
the police.”
Police sources confirmed the development and
informed Saturday Tribune that the suspects were
currently under interrogation.
When Saturday Tribune visited Sanyo Police
Station, the case was said to have been
transferred to the State Criminal Investigation
Department (SCID), Iyaganku, Ibadan. On getting
to the SCID, it was discovered that the suspects
were under interrogation, new discoveries having
been made on the matter.
“The case is still under investigation, especially
when new discoveries were made. There can’t be
any comment on it now until the completion of
the on-going investigation,” a police source said.
Meanwhile, some of the residents who spoke with
the Saturday Tribune under condition of
anonymity said nobody noticed that Bamidele
was involved in such act. They said the story was
like a rumour to them until Friday morning when
some people suspected to be police officers came
in company with the victim and fished out fresh
human parts where they had been hidden in the
bush behind his workshop.
One of them said, “Everybody believed it was a
rumour until this morning (Friday) that we saw
the fresh human head with the man. That means
one must be very careful in this area.”
When Saturday Tribune visited Bamidele’s shop
on Friday morning, one young man who refused
to give his name, but was described as his
(Bamidele’s) apprentice, was seen in the shop.

The Shrine Of Man Who Used His Mother For Ritual In Imo State Destroyed By Police

The shrine of controversial Chief Chimezie Bede
Osigwe, the man who allegedly killed his mother,
embalmed her body and kept the skeleton for
about 10 years in his cupboard, has been
destroyed by a combined team of Nigeria Police
and Imo Security Network.
Vanguard investigations revealed that the
demolition commenced, yesterday morning, at
Ejemekwuru, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo
State, as soon as the security men arrived the
rural community.
The presence of security personnel and a heavy
duty pay-loader in the community elicited fresh
anxiety among the people, even as they expressed
delight at the destruction of the crime scene that
brought collateral shame to the area.
Although it was not clear at press time, who gave
the order for the demolition of Osigwe’s house,
Vanguard gathered that the action might not be
unconnected with the state administration’s
stand on pulling down buildings that house
criminals.
Some of the indigenes of the area commended
the security men for “taking timely and decisive
action on the house of crime.”
What baffled the people most was that Osigwe
never told anybody what truly happened to his
mother or gave the late woman a decent burial
until her lifeless body was recovered.
It would be recalled that the police recently
arrested Osigwe for allegedly killing his mother
and keeping same for 10 years in his cupboard.

Bayelsa To Install CCTV Cameras At N1.7 billion

The payment was made during the monthly
transparency briefing held at the Banquet Hall,
Government House, Yenagoa, where it was
revealed that the payment is an initial deposit of
30 percent for the contract for a ‘Safe City, Safe
State’ security agreement.
Bayelsa state Governor, Seriake Dickson explained
that the security deal would ensure electronic
surveillance of the state.
He noted that security was cardinal to the
transformational agenda of his administration,
and that the contractor would complete the
project before government will pay the balance.
The transparency briefing also afforded the
government the opportunity of informing its
citizens of the total financial balance of the state
as N29.53 billion and that the state was not
owing any contractor just as it was servicing
debts inherited from previous administration.
The governor also announced that the Internally
Generated Revenue (IGR) profile of the state had
risen to over N1.3 billion due to a combination of
policies, sacrifices and understanding by civil
servants.

25 year old man murders his mother and two sisters

Residents of Gusau metropolis in Zamfara
State were shocked recently after the swollen
corpse of one of their neighbours and two of
her daughters were found dumped inside a
nearby dam in the area. More shocking was
the suspicion that mother and daughters
were killed by their on blood, 25-year-old
Kamal Yusuf Aliyu. The suspect who is
presently in police net has reportedly given
reasons why he killed his mother and
younger sisters.
Narrating the circumstances that led to the
ugly incident, the Police Public Relations
Officer in Zamfara State, DSP Lawal
Abdullahi said that the command started by
investigating a case of criminal conspiracy,
armed robbery and culpable homicide initially
reported by a good Samaritan as a case of
sudden and unnatural death (SUD).
According to him, “The good Samaritan, on
May 29, 2013 had reported to the Police that
a female corpse was sighted floating in the
water Board Dam in Gusau metropolis,
Zamfara State. When the corpse was
removed to Federal Medical Center, Gusau for
postmortem examination, deep cuts and
injuries were discovered all over the body of
the corpse. A case of Culpable Homicide was
being established.
In the afternoon of May 30 2013, relations of
the deceased came to Gusau Central Police
Station and reported a case of missing
person. Their relation, Hajiya Hafsat, was not
seen for the past 48 hours, and that her
mobile phone was not going through. They
were taken to the Public Mortuary where they
identified the said corpse as their missing
sister.
A Police team led by the Divisional Police
Officer (DPO) went to the house of the
deceased but met it under lock and key. It
was forced open and on entry, blood stains
were seen all over the room. Her clothes,
money and valuables were ransacked by the
perpetrators.
The deceased’s car was not seen in the
house, but her son’s car was seen inside the
compound with blood stains. The car booth
was searched and pillow cases, bed sheets
soaked with blood were recovered. The
discovery reaffirmed Police’s suspicion on a
case of culpable homicide coupled with the
testimony of the deceased relations that her
son who is now the prime suspect has been
threatening to kill her if she fails to give him
money.
The relations also reported to the Police that,
two of the deceased little daughters aged
between 11 and 9 years, living together in the
same house, were equally not seen. The
Police now suspected that the assailants
may have killed the two girls and dumped
their bodies in the water where the mother’s
body was recovered. The Police then went to
the river side where the first corpse was
recovered. Fortunately, the two corpses were
recovered, one with cuts all over her body
while the other was slaughtered,”
Police also informed Crime Guard that the
prime suspect, Kamal Yusuf Aliyu (25), who
is the deceased biological son, has been out
of school because of his bad habit and
following Police investigation, the prime
suspect was arrested in Kaduna with his
mother’s (deceased) car.
Some valuables and cash belonging to the
deceased were also recovered. It was learnt
that Kamal has confessed to the Police and
has mentioned the names of his accomplices
as Armaya’u Yusuf, 24, and Caleb Humphrey,
25. Both are in police custody.
The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police,
Akilu Usman Gwary has assured members of
the public that no stone would be left
unturned to fish out the remaining culprits
that were at large soonest. “The suspect’s
action is unfortunate and highly barbaric and
definitely they will face the full wrath of the
law,” the CP said.
